Malinda Boren

A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Malinda Boren first became a real estate associate after college and later graduated from the REALTOR® Institute (GRI) at age 30. Her husband brought her to the High Country in the 1990s and, after living in Florida for years, Malinda came back to live in Linville. She again became active in selling real estate with an established firm in the High Country and recently joined the team at Premier Sotheby's International Realty in Banner Elk as a broker associate.

Malinda's passion for real estate led her to accumulate rental properties which she retained throughout her life. Many she bought, remodeled, rented, then sold to buy more rental properties wherever she was living. As a member of the High Country Association of REALTORS®, Malinda devotes her full attention, experience and knowledge to each client. She truly loves assisting people with buying or selling their homes, empathizing with their decisions and desires.

Her love for real estate is shared with her passion for flying, which she has done for more than 50 years. Malinda has owned several planes and acquired her Airline Transport Pilot certificate. She's had several planes of her own and flew Learjets for an air ambulance company for 12 years. On occasion, Malinda has been known to fly real estate clients to view properties.

In addition to real estate and flying, Malinda has been active with several community organizations. She had the pleasure of serving on the board of directors for Roanoke College in Virginia, Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, the Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce, and the Virginia Road and Transportation Builders Association, where she worked alongside her father, a bridge building contractor. Until recently, Malinda served as the president of her congregation's National Episcopal Church Women association.
